With a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona paired with 35 years of experience in the swimming pool and landscape construction industry, Ken has an impeccable eye for design and construction quality coupled with a realistic understanding of budget. During his years of experience he has worked as a designer, project manager, sales manager and general manager for three of the largest pool companies in the nation. He has been a leader in the industry with many design awards and achievements.

“My focus is on providing guidance based on my years of experience coupled with my commitment to conservation and intelligent design. So much of my success has come from a commitment to people, not only to my clients, but also my subcontractors, vendors and business professionals. Every day I ask people to perform above and beyond on my projects. I can only be successful if I provide the same willingness to serve.”

Ken started Tucson Pools by Design partly as a result of the changing market. Consumers must be selective to protect their investment. “Today our clients are looking for a higher level of service, attention to detail and a great value. At Pools by Design, that is our mission. We focus on providing excellent service while keep our overhead low. This creates happy customers, which makes for new business referrals. Lower operating costs are passed on as savings to our clients. It all works very well.”

To achieve greatness in design, form must follow function. In a business the same can be said. At Pools by Design Ken provides the function. The form comes from his partner in life, Maryanne.

Maryanne Larison

Maryanne Larison is a graduate from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Physics. She has several years of experience in the water treatment industry and has been a design consultant and manager in the swimming pool industry for more than 10 years.

Maryanne brings a passion for excellence and in building relationships with clients that lasts a lifetime. “I believe in taking care of people and their families. The backyard design must take into account all aspects that uniquely meet my clients’ needs. I like to take the time to get to know people before we start the planning process. Each family is unique and deserves to have an outdoor living space that is safe, efficient, flows well and is an extension of a family’s lifestyle.”
