- How much will my swimming pool cost?The cost of building a pool can vary dramatically. It depends on location, size, depth, and complexity of features. Pools by Design will work within your budget to design your dream pool.
- How should I decide on the design of my pool?Each property has unique features that should be considered when your pool is being designed. Your family needs, such as exercise, type of play activity and desired depth should all be taken into consideration. Pools by Design will make sure your pool fits into the setbacks required by your local zoning department and will determine where the pool looks best when viewed from your home.
- How long does it typically take to build a Pools by Design swimming pool?It generally takes between eight to 10 weeks from excavation, depending on the size and complexity of your project (not including landscaping). Weather is a factor which can have a direct bearing on the actual construction time frame.
- Who pulls (acquires) my permits and sets up inspections?Pool by Design pulls all of the required permits and arranges all of the necessary inspections.
- What kind of tile is available?We have wide variety of swimming pool tiles to choose from to create just the right look for your pool. If you want to make your pool stand out with style, we are able to special order tiles to meets your special needs.
- How long will it take to fill my new pool? How much will it cost?Generally, it takes between 24 to 48 hours to fill a pool. Water costs vary with respect to local water charges and the size of your pool, but the cost usually ranges from $75 to $150.
- Can I clean my pool myself?Upon completion of your new pool, we will give you instructions on all your pool maintenance needs. However, if you do not have the time or prefer to have someone else maintain your pool, Pools by Design does offer maintenance services.
- Before I buy an existing house, what do I need to know if I want to put a swimming pool in after we take occupancy?a. Find out where your utility easement is located. Note – the necessity to move utility lines either overhead or underground will be an additional cost.
b. Check with the homeowner’s association to ensure there are no restrictions that prevent you from installing your pool.
c. Find out where the septic system and/or any underground utilities are located.
d. Determine the ease of access to the backyard for heavy equipment operators. - Does my pool come with a warranty? At Pools by Design we provide you with the strongest guarantee in the swimming pool industry. We are confident in the product we build, and we offer a warranty that backs it up. We will provide a lifetime warranty in writing.
- How do I keep my children and pets safe around our swimming pool?Safety is a primary concern for swimming pool owners. Pools by Design recommends an automatic pool safety cover as your number one choice for security. It will not only keep children and pets out of your pool when you are not there, but it will also keep the pool clean and minimize heat loss. Wrought iron fencing and other pool barriers are available with self closing/latching gates that help provide necessary security. There are also pool alarms and pool cameras with attached alarms that turn on with motion at poolside and set off an alarm in the house. However, there is no substitution for parental guidance around pools.
